Volume Four of the Faces series features five tracks from Lomovolokno and Five from Sieren. Every volume in the series is great, but this stuck out in terms of quality and distinct personality between both artists.

Not sure if this is Jazz, Hip Hop, both or somewhere in between, but thats what makes the album so great. It's warm sprawling drums are often sprinkled over looping classical bars, which creates a warm almost lo-fi texture similar to sample based Hip Hop but enjoys the pacing and freedom of a Jazz record. Sometimes chaotic, but always beautiful.

Whats most impressive about this release from Brooklyns Krts is the range of influences and samples that are used to create something that sounds probably the most definitve 'Project mooncircle sound'. Everything was put it the pot here and it came out sounding smooth and balanced whilst containing all the musical vitamins you need.

This 46 track 10 Year anniversary compilation is a great way to get a feeling of the overall sound and ideas of the label. From vigorous Electronica to whimsical Hip Hop this album sounds perfect from to start to finish. Highlights include Sweatson Klank, Rain Dog and Krts.

“Project Mooncircle is a Berlin based label and creative collective operating in the left-field sphere of electronic music.Originally established in 2002, it’s diverse back catalogue is one of no musical boundaries. Today much of the label’s output focuses on the fusion of organic and electronic music.”

For 15 years now, Project Mooncircle has been at the forefront of envelope pushing when it comes to Electronic music. Although based in Germany, their catalogue features artists from all around the globe and even released compilations albums (under the Finest Ego Beatmaker moniker) which compiled all the best new beat makers from five different regions including Russia and Japan.

A great Seven track EP full of big dynamics, originality and unique Sound Design which also has my favourite Artwork from Project Mooncircle, one of those albums where the Artwork and Music are synonymous with each other.

This for me was Rain Dog's more structured and 'accessible' release, filled with glimmering vocal hooks,  and melodic synthetic patterns this is the most 'pop' you are going to get with Project Mooncircle.

It was a hard job to pick a favourite Submerse release on Project Mooncircle, but Tears has everything that is good about Submerse in 7 tracks. Whats most distinctive about the Manchester producer on Tears is his vocal sampling which seems to add a pop sensibility to an often intense and convoluted production which ends up calming everything down by using the vocals as the extra ingredient that brings all the flavours together. Every track is layered with intricate texture whilst the drums cut and punch through with a bounce that pulsates through your body gripping you tightly and not letting go.
